Quilted Diamonds

Excuse for not being finished: not really that motivated!

This is one of my portable hand sewing projects, patterns and techniques from Linda Franz's book Quilted Diamonds (many based on the Dear Jane ones).
I am not enjoying the bias edges at all. I suspect when it comes to sewing these together, I am pretty much going to have to use an appliqué-style stitch to get all the bits to work properly. It is using the blue Jennifer Sampou mini swirls fabric that I bought far too much of when doing the cornerstones and binding for my Dear Jane.

The photo shows a bunch of blocks not yet sewn together sitting on my design wall. You get the idea.

I'm not sure about what this quilt will be... it's for me, but how many lap quilts do I need? My poor mohair blanket hasn't seen the outside of the linen cupboard for well over 5 years!
