Fall Frolic 2003
Swap Time: September 2003
Selected blocks: D8 and H12
Method: Hand
Appliquéd

This swap is run annually through the Dear Jane online support list. Blocks are made in autumn tones and swapped (there is a Spring version too, but that's not my scene!!)
I have elected to make 3 sets of 10 blocks - 2 sets of D8, and 1 set of H12.
This will give me a nice little quilt with 5x6 blocks in it. I have also made myself one of each block for my quilt.

July 17... all 20 D8 blocks are completed:

July 28... all 10 H12 blocks are completed:

July 29... I have the baggies all packed, labeled and organised, and they will fly off to the US tomorrow :-)

September 17... I have learned that I qualified for a prize! I won the "first overseas package received" prize! Woo hoo! Can't wait to see the blocks I got, but I guess I will have to.

September 23... I got my package!! My prize was a Dear Jane tin - I tried to buy one of these months ago and got nowhere. YAY!! Thankyou :-)

October 6...I finished piecing the top! (Don't worry, I am not usually like this.) Darling Hubby bought me a new sewing machine yesterday and I had to break it in. I can't even remember how I lived without an automatic thread cutter *grin*. (Before you get too jealous, I have served my time with El Crappo bottom of the range machines - I didn't even know it but the throat of my old machine is nearly 2" smaller than standard! No wonder I hated quilting king size quilts...)
Anyway, here's the picture. Not totally sure yet, but I think I will hand quilt this. Have never hand quilted before though.

October 21... The quilt is finished! Lots of drama and heartache though - see it here.
