This one's a raffle quilt made to raise funds to
improve the children's area at my husband's
church.
It was my idea to go with the "Noah's Ark" theme - the raffle is being drawn at
the Blessing of the Animals service in October.... not sure if that's a
coincidence or not!! LOL.... this uses a pre-printed panel surrounded by 4" blocks. Lots of animals. (Good thing I have a great stash for supplies!!). Took me longer to cut the centre panel to the exact right size than anything else! (Well, it felt that way, anyway). **STOP PRESS** The panel is QTD (Quilted To Death). My first real attempt at nutso quilting and I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I even quilted a cameo of Noah in (see close-ups below).... hence the title! My original plan was to have "people" as one of the border animals, as there were people on the Ark.... but the only fabric I had of people depicts quilters!! Not sure how the message that Noah saved all the animals and all the quilters would go down *grin*. |
