Trapunto Workshop Quilt

Dimensions: 31"x31"

Completed: June 2003

This quilt was begun in a trapunto by machine workshop run by Lee Cleland in April 2003. She taught me soooo much that day! We made little glasses holders first, then had a few choices of designs to choose from. This one I just loved! I didn't do anything else that day, just worked on this. Lee also taught me how to get my mitred corners on the borders to meet up (my dad thought it was a lucky coincidence!!!).

This was my first big day out since Ben was born. I finished the trapunto bit and binding the next day, but the borders were wavy... I hung it up anyway then decided to fix it. I read that the heavy quilting in the centre could warp the rest of the quilt, so I outlined the paisley things, then stippled the background. That didn't fix it either :-) I wet it down, plonked some heavy books on top until it dried. That didn't fix it either. So I hung it up in the guest room anyway and Blu-Takked the corners to the wall!

Not a great picture, but you get the idea.
